If you’re new to Git and Github and are looking to add this tool to your skillset, Launch School invites you to attend our live 3-part webinar on “Git & Github: Introduction to Git”. In part 1, we’ll explore Why Git is important, how to correctly setup and install Git for the first time.

Also due to popular demand, Launch School will be running following workshops:

  • Variables as Pointers & Mutability: Learn how variables act as pointers in Ruby and JavaScript and how mutability works with Arrays and other collections.

Tuesday February 14th at 7pm US Eastern

In this workshop Grace will show you how mutability works with Arrays and Objects in JavaScript. You’ll also learn about variables as pointers and how this applies to the concepts Pass-by-Reference and Pass-by-Value.

Thursday February 16th at 6pm US Eastern

In this workshop Clare will introduce you to the important concept of version control, and how to install and use the essential programming tool Git for the first time. You’ll also learn how to create a local repository, make commits, and stage and track file changes.

Friday February 17th at 6pm US Eastern

In this workshop Trevor will show you how variables as pointers work in Ruby. You’ll also learn about mutating and non-mutating methods and how this applies to the concepts Pass-by-Reference and Pass-by-Value.
